A New Found Respect for Chris Hughton
By: Daryl | December 8th, 2008
Time to check in on my fellow Football Manager 2009 bloggers. No progress reports at TTFM so think we can assume they’re still bottom of the Prem with Hull and preparing for life in either the Championship or unemployment. But TTFM has posted a useful roundup of facepacks (files containing the faceshots of famous footballers) if anyone’s looking for something like that.
Meanwhile, Brian at Run of Play has got his Pro Vercelli career underway. His relationship with assistant manager Walter Colombo did not get off to a good start. In Brian’s own words:
How do you get to be an assistant manager at a top club like Pro Vercelli when your man management skills, your determination, and your motivational abilities are so inadequate that they register at the lowest possible point on the numeric scale? When it comes to judging player ability, the difference between Walter Colombo and a six-month-old baby is that Walter is under contract through 2013.
But at least that makes me appreciate Chris Hughton a little more. Might even start listening to him.
More importantly, Brian’s promotion hopefuls got off to a decent start with a draw and then a win via this goal from Marco Conchione, the Juninho of Serie C2A.
The obvious question after watching video of that goal: Why aren’t I doing that? If anyone has any advice on how to upload FM 2009 goals to YouTube or similar then please let me know. I’d love to share Jonas’ dribbles, The Pog’s headed goals and Alan Dzagoev’s superchavness here on FM Offside.
