I got April Fooled whilst playing FM08 last night at about 12.30am. It had just turned April 1 2009 in reality and funnily enough, it had just turned the same date exactly in the game.
Up pops a message; In an incredibly generous move, the Newcastle board (you inspired me, but I ended up getting the sack) are offering you €723M for new players and a new stadium.’
I click on ‘Accept’ and up pops ‘Ha, April Fools! You didn’t think we’d make it that easy did you?’
Bastards…

Seems it only happens when it’s simultaneously April 1st in the game and in real life.

Yeah, that’s it I think Daryl. It’s a pretty cool feature. Those guys at SI seem to be kinda cool.
It’s gotta hurt some FM managers though when that pops up when their club’s in real financial trouble. They think their prayers have been answered and then BAM!

What is your addictedness rating? Mine recently changed from “turning your underwear inside-out saves on washing” to “real football managers don’t need food”.

At one stage, mine was ‘Send a sick note to work’ which after a few more days became ‘Send a sick not to your family’…
That was after about a month of game time though. Ridiculous really..

Had nothing to do with April fools, but I wasn’t offered another contract at the club (Palermo), after taking them off rock bottom to guide them to 8th position. When I joined them the had 15 points after 17 matches, 20th position, and I got sacked after getting them to safety and into the top ten.
Absolutely livid.Posted from
