Is This Team Good Enough to Win the Title?

So the draw for the 2011 Champions League last 16 has been made. There’s good news and bad news. The good news is that I was in the draw. Which I’m claiming as an achievement. The bad news is that we drew Barcelona. Who have a terrifyingly good 24 year old Leo Messi and a possibly even scarier 21 year old Bojan.
But we don’t have to worry about those guys until February 2012. For now I can concentrate and what’s looking to be an actual title challenge.
vs Spurs
After rotating things a bit vs Anderlecht and Leeds , I sent out my first choice side to face Spurs. And yes, first choice currently includes Robert “The Pole with the Goals” Lewandowski. The man is on fire, in a good way, obviously.
Jonas opened the scoring by tapping in a Marquinhos cross in the 9th (got to love that winger to winger action) and Lewandwoski settled it with sweet 20 yarder in the 29th. And that was that. The 2011 Spurs team (managed by Harry Redknapp and featuring a returned Dimitar Berbatov) had no response.
Result: W 2-0
That win keeps us two points clear of Arsenal at the top of the league.
Which has me thinking… could we actually do it? Is this team good enough to win the title? Start of the season, I would have said no. But 16 games in, two points clear of Arsenal and a big squad with a lot of form, I’m starting to think yes.

Hope so mate, Ive currently got Newcastle 3rd after 8 games in the 3rd season. But after going 2-0 up at half time, and ending up losng 4-2 to Bolton I’ve decided my team aren’t good enough and Im just aiming for Europe now!
