Lower League Management
By: Daryl | February 27th, 2009
Once again, the FM Offside network has expanded. Our newest blog is Football Manager – Lower League Management, written by Dave.
LLM isn’t just about managing down in the depths, it’s about playing by a set of rules to make FM as realistic as possible. That means things like not using real players (so you don’t know in advance who the stars/bargains/wonderkids are) and only signing players that a real life manager would realistically have seen.
Read Dave’s first post for a full explanation of LLM Guidelines he’ll be abiding by.
Dave’s will also be putting his faith in you and I, his audience, and making many major decisions via online polls. Decisions like which team he’ll manage, so head on over to his first post now if you want to suggest a lower league team for him to sign on with.
UPDATE: Vote for which of these six teams Dave should manage now.
We’ve got two more blogs in the pipeline (one for the mighty Stockport County and another for FC United of Manchester). And of course, we’re always looking for new blogs and bloggers to add to our FM Offside network.
But, be warned, we’re getting a bit more picky about who we give a blog to. Basically, no more blogs about games that have already started. Please only apply if you’re willing to start a fresh game and share it with an audience from the start.
We’re also looking for original and different ideas for our blogs. We already have two English Prem and two Serie A blogs. Plus, blogs about being Man Utd / Arsenal / Inter and winning lots of trophies aren’t really all that fascinating. Unless you have a quirky spin on it.
For example, another FM blog about Arsenal or Chelsea isn’t too interesting. But a blog about taking the Arsenal or Chelsea job with the aim of fielding an all English XI within, say, three seasons (without getting fired) would be fascinating.
Anyone who wants to apply for a blog should email me via daryl[at]theoffside[dot]com and anyone who wants to hassle me about replying to an email… read this post first.

Oh Corey, no worries mate. Not you.
It’s different for guys like you who emailed me back when we first started all this (and then had to wait ages for us to set it up).
Didn’t mean that to be criticism at all, seriously.
Just saying that now we’ve got everything set up and running, I’d prefer all the new blogs to be starting from scratch, that’s all.

Has no one done one starting right from the bottom? That’d be quite interesting, I think.

LLM will be doing that I think, in either England, Italy or Germany.

How about a non-European league? I think that’ll be an interesting experiment. I’d like to do it, but I don’t think I have enough time commitment lol…
